Le Rhumarin
ZeWelcome's opinion
The gourmet's choice, a refined fusion of Provence and the Caribbean, in an idyllic setting. We loved the tuna tartare with parmesan and truffle, and the extensive menu of aged rums.
Created from a marriage between the Caribbean and Provence, Rhumarin is a unique place where cicadas and hummingbirds meet. The ambiance is chic and relaxed, the decor is meticulous, the background is musical, the team is young and dynamic, and above all, the cuisine is simple and gourmet!
A love of cooking is the watchword of chef Anthony JUNG. With a background in the South of France and Switzerland, Anthony welcomes you to the Rhumarin and introduces you to Provençal and Creole cuisine. A meticulous cuisine, with aromas full of freshness and sunshine. A cuisine with original touches, passion, love of good produce and always with a gourmet touch.
Le Rhumarin welcomes you every day for lunch and dinner on the shores of the blue lagoon in Saint François. It's one of the few restaurants in Guadeloupe to offer direct booking on their website. How convenient!
Le Poivrier
ZeWelcome's opinion
The cuisine is worthy of the finest gourmet restaurants, and the view over the lagoon is breathtaking. We were seduced by the originality of the dishes, often accompanied by rare exotic peppers.
Le Poivrier is one of the best restaurants in Saint François, thanks to a number of assets that are appreciated by all.
- The setting: The edge of the Saint François lagoon. Its vibrant colors offer the restaurant an ideal location, perched just above the turquoise water, fishermen's boats and the flight of Saint François« few pairs of »Gosiers".
- The welcome: A discreet but always professional welcome, accompanied by attentive service that makes Le Poivrier the ideal place for meals and dinners for lovers, families and business colleagues alike.
- The cuisine: Of course, Le Poivrier is best known for its refined, elegant cuisine based on fresh seafood. But also for its specialties of French cuisine, always personalized and tropicalized to delight your palate.
It's best to reserve your table so that they can welcome you in the best possible conditions.
The gateway to India
ZeWelcome's opinion
The location and ambience literally transport you between India and Pakistan. The decor alone makes this restaurant worth the detour. You'll find all the classics of Indian gastronomy perfectly executed, with a semi-open kitchen that lets out the scent of 1001 spices.
La Porte des Indes, in Saint-François, a seaside resort on Guadeloupe's Grande-Terre, is not just a restaurant, but a real journey to India and Pakistan.
This establishment run by Cathy and Arthur has a history worthy of a great novel.
Indeed, Arthur went on a journey of total immersion to master the cuisine that was close to his heart, blending into the streets of New Dehli, Calcutta, the regions of Kashmir, Kerala and the Himalayas to bring you the very best of his native cuisine.
The Optimist
ZeWelcome's opinion
Right in the center of the Marina, it's the ideal place to enjoy the very special atmosphere of Saint-François by night. L'Optimiste is the perfect blend of gastronomy and simplicity, with occasional hints of Belgian influences.
The Optimist, A chic yet relaxed setting and a warm, friendly atmosphere, whose world cuisine invites you to travel, while admiring the Marina de Saint-François!
Le Café Corail
ZeWelcome's opinion
One of the best places on the island to eat vegetarian and enjoy incredible fresh smoothies and detox juices. Their original tartines will delight healthy eaters and big eaters alike.
Café Corail is located at the St-François marina. Eat-in or take-away, they offer a range of delicious cold-pressed juices, smoothies, teas, coffees, gourmet spreads, hummus and other healthy nibbles.
Breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, Café Corail can be enjoyed at any time on its beautifully decorated mini-terrace, sheltered from the sun and rain (Guadeloupe's weather can change quickly) or indoors on the high chairs.
The 619
ZeWelcome's opinion
Intimate and warm, the 619 cellar/restaurant in Saint-François is THE reference for wine and gastronomy in Guadeloupe. The owner recently distinguished himself by making his own rum, and the least we can say is that he's got talent, with a gold medal at the World Spirits Competition! Come and visit us, you'll be warmly welcomed 😉
A must for almost 10 years, Restaurant 619 is a wine cellar, wine bar and restaurant all in one, offering French southwestern cuisine cleverly combined with tropical notes. A master restaurateur, everything here is fresh and homemade! The menu on the restaurant windows changes weekly according to the catch and Chef Thomas's mood!
Charcuterie board, Foie gras with aged rum and a wide choice of tapas for aperitifs with friends. The corkage fee on wines sold in the boutique, over 200 references.... allows you to treat yourself at affordable prices by sharing a fine bottle during your meal! Eric is there to advise and guide you towards the best food and wine pairing. The house motto «Rock your Life» is always the key to a great evening.
Le Carré
ZeWelcome's opinion
Probably the best pizza you can eat in St-François, the place is friendly, the service fast, and the welcome with a smile. On the spot or to go, we recommend it!
This restaurant offers both an extensive pizza menu and semi-gastronomic cuisine. The pizzas are excellent, with their thin, crispy dough. The choice is vast, from classic pizzas to those with truffle cream. The products are fresh.
As for the more elaborate menu, the dishes are inventive, like the veal chop, citrus risotto and scallops, but also aperitif platters and poke bowls, for example. As an added bonus, the welcome and service are extremely friendly. Despite being on the road, the site is very pleasant.
Les Pieds dans l'Eau
ZeWelcome's opinion
The ideal place to capture the very essence of Guadeloupe: situated on the waterfront with a superb view, it has a typical Creole atmosphere, lively, friendly and timeless, where tongues are loosened over a ti'punch and emblematic Guadeloupe dishes. After-dinner drinks are on the house, and the owner's friendliness is infectious!
The setting is simple, with madras oilcloths, but with a superb view of the sea and the fishermen's boats. The restaurant's cuisine is based on the catch of the day. This is the case with the lobster, which is why you need to come early if you've decided to try one. The waiter comes to show you the shellfish before it goes into the pan, and even offers to pose for a photo!
Local cuisine (colombo, grilled chicken or fish, fricassee of catrou, lambi, fish court-bouillon...).
The Secret Garden
ZeWelcome's opinion
Launched recently, Jardin Secret is St-François« »trendy" spot, which is not just a restaurant but a living space designed for an immersive experience. We particularly appreciate its innovative menu that frequently reinvents itself, its enchanting decor, its garden that invites you to laze around with its pétanque court and pool table, and the many nearby concept stores to visit (CBD, Tattoo, Fleuriste...).
The Le Jardin Secret restaurant, café and shops offer a variety of dishes in a relaxed, no-frills atmosphere that makes you feel right at home!
Le Colombo
ZeWelcome's opinion
Probably the most famous Creole restaurant in St-François. Often fully booked due to its success, it serves fish, lobster, accras and colombo of all kinds. 2 rooms, 2 atmospheres: the lively interior, bustling with boisterous discussion, and the calm exterior, close to the sea under the breeze of the trade winds.
Over the years, Colombo has become one of the must-visit restaurants in Saint-François and Guadeloupe. Rudy, the son who grew up in the restaurant, took over the reins in 2010 and is continuing the excellent reputation of the family business.
Le Colombo is very popular with Guadeloupeans and tourists alike, who come to enjoy an excellent, generous West Indian meal. Customers benefit from discreet but attentive service and enjoy a good time in a local atmosphere. Here, lobster is one of the dishes for which the whole of Guadeloupe moves. A large 5,300-liter fish tank keeps up with demand.
Opposite the restaurant, less than 50 metres away, is a little corner of paradise: the emerald-coloured Lagon de Saint-François. A few kilometers away, the Pointe des Châteaux offers magnificent scenery. If you take the path leading to the cross, you'll discover a superb view, weather permitting.
Mabouya in the Bottle
ZeWelcome's opinion
Wine lovers, this is the place to be. If you're looking for fine dining worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant, and a perfect match between food and wine, you won't be disappointed. The excellence of the food is matched by a friendly atmosphere, with hosts who like a good laugh and are quick to put you at ease.
Semi-gastro restaurant and wine cellar with over 100 references, they cook mainly with fresh produce and blend local flavors with those from elsewhere... Refined cuisine with Creole and Mediterranean influences.
I Pasta
ZeWelcome's opinion
Plunge into the heart of Italian gastronomy. This small restaurant, far from the hustle and bustle of the marina, offers pasta and antipasti specialties in an elegant, friendly setting. The dishes are made with love, and you can feel it!
Treat yourself, they take care of everything! A wide range of fresh pasta and homemade sauces:
- Ravioli, cappeletti, spaghetti, lasagne, tagliatelle ...
- Complete, gourmet dishes, desserts ...
- A delicatessen with the best Italian products on the market

Le Zagaya
ZeWelcome's opinion
The terrace overlooking the lagoon is exceptional; day or night, the atmosphere is heavenly. The menu is beautiful and varied, and you can go there with your eyes closed, but don't forget to open them from time to time to enjoy the view.
Enjoy French and West Indian cuisine on their terrace overlooking the lagoon, with lobster from the tank and fresh produce. Their specialty: fish and shellfish from Guadeloupe.
This colorful restaurant boasts a privileged location. It faces the Saint-François lagoon, in a charming, beautifully decorated Creole hut. The friendly team is dedicated to making your meal as pleasant as possible, and the service is always attentive. Chef Simon, who is clearly passionate about his work, offers a varied gastronomic cuisine based on fresh local produce. Don't forget to make a reservation for a table close to the lagoon.
La Rhumerie du Pirate
ZeWelcome's opinion
Chef Miguel offers a Creole cuisine revisited with originality and flavor. A must on your way to Pointe des Chateaux! For sugar cane lovers who want to extend the experience, simply cross the road to end the tasting in a well-stocked Caribbean rum cellar.
A superb location for this all-wooden restaurant, with its huge terrace offering panoramic views of the sea and surrounding islands. All the Caribbean specialities are on offer, with daily specials and a range of reasonably priced menus (grilled lobster, lambi or chatrou fricassee, fish court-bouillon). For connoisseurs, the restaurant offers over 40 varieties of Caribbean rums.
A must: a photo as a Caribbean pirate at the restaurant entrance! Reservations recommended at weekends.
Gastronomic specialities of Saint Francois in Guadeloupe
Guadeloupe is a French island whose cuisine is influenced by a mix of cultures unique to this French overseas territory. Whether you like meat, fish or vegetarian options, you'll find what you're looking for.
Although the island's food scene is excellent, most of Guadeloupe's best restaurants can be found in Saint-François, Guadeloupe's gastronomic capital, where the seaside resort-style town center is particularly well-suited.
Guadeloupe is an island in the Caribbean, and when you think island, you think fish. You'll find plenty of fish such as sea bream, tuna, parrot fish, triggerfish, thazar and marlin. But also octopus (called «Chatrou» in Creole), freshwater prawns (called «ouassous»), crab and the famous langoustes that everyone loves. Creole specialties are also in the spotlight, with accras accompanied by chien sauce (West Indian condiments), gratins of christophine, or fricassee of lambi (a mollusc much prized by Guadeloupeans). But St. Francois is also home to a large Indian community, whose gastronomic wealth blends to create a cuisine with multicultural influences.
Chili pepper is often part of the mix, so if it stings a little too much, sip on your Ti-Punch and think of the coldest moments of the metropolitan winter, it won't sting any less but it may comfort you. 😁
Conclusion
There are so many good restaurants in this commune, it's not easy to know where to go. We hope our selection of these 14 best restaurants in Saint-François, Guadeloupe has given you some ideas. While some prefer traditional Creole dishes, others prefer more international cuisine. Whatever your taste, you're sure to find a restaurant on this list to suit you.
ℹ️ The choice was difficult and it was impossible for us to mention everyone. Note that we also heard great things about many other restaurants in St. François, such as Le Tiki, Le Bistrot Exotique, at Christine's, the Domino, Ti Maki, the Ti-Coco, at L&B, Ti Tab Kreol, Pier 17, India Massala... and many more!

Great article! Personally, I love wine and good food, and I recommend Hans Wine if you're as much of a bon vivant as I am!
Hello Loulette,
Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
On the other hand, it's impossible to find Hans Wine on the internet. Is there a site or a Google map location where we can go and have a look?
